Day3: A Day In My Life

So, my days are pretty much the same, but I will share it with you anyway.

I woke up at 7:15 to let the little boy I babysit in. We then went back to sleep for a few hours. When we woke up, I made us something to eat. His choice was cheese roll-ups, which was fine by me because they are super fast and easy.
Then we spent time with my husband Josh and watched cartoons. Then we decided to draw together. I drew a house and he scribbled in random colors until he was happy with it. He then had me make his drawing into a paper airplane.
After that we watched my husband walk to the bus stop to get the little boys sister off the school bus. He has to watch sissy get off the bus everyday.
When sissy got here we made her a snack and then we got started on homework. She had a packet to complete about the ecosystem and then a math worksheet.
When that was completed the little boy fell asleep and sissy started drawing. We also put on one of my favorite cartoons which is Arthur. They will leave at 6.
When they go home, I'll clean up the living room, wash the dishes, and then watch Dr. Phil. Joshua doesn't get off work until Midnight, so I will begin dinner around 11:45ish. We are going to be having breakfast. It is easy, we have everything for it, and Josh loves breakfast for dinner.
We will then watch The Arrow and go to bed.
My day tomorrow will be generally the same.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 1 Introduction

So, as the title saying I am starting a 30 Day blog challenge. I am hoping this will get me in the habit of blogging everyday. Day 1 is an Introduction. So, here goes nothing....

I am Amanda and I'm 26 years old. I am happily married to my best friend Joshua and we celebrated 8 years of marriage October 6th. Joshua is a Correctional Office and also a full time college student pursuing a degree in Information Technology. I have three dogs that I call my fur babies. They are my children. I recently graduated from college with a degree in Human Service. I would like to be a Social Worker. I have always wanted a career in which I could help others. Right now I am a babysitter and substitute teacher. Which is if we are honest, they are the same thing. I enjoy both jobs, but I would love to find something in my career field and that is more permanent. We are also looking into buying our first home, which is exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. I have PCOS. It isn't something that most people even know of, but it is a hard condition to live with. It also causes fertility issues, which has been heartbreaking for me. However, I am getting ready to have the gastric sleeve surgery which will help with my fertility. My husband and I have tried to have a family for 7 years and it has been difficult. So, while the surgery was something I had a hard time deciding on it is worth it for me. I am willing to do what it takes to have children. I have wanted to be a mother for as long as I can remember and I want more than anything to make my husband a father. I know he will be amazing. I am a christian and I am a member of a baptist church. I try to do my best to show others Christ through me and treat people the way I would like to be treated.

Some random information about me....

I am a crafter. I love to craft and do so often. I love my Cricut explore. I could design decals all day long and have. I crochet, scrapbook, sew, paint, draw, and make jewelry. I also love to cook and find new recipes to try. Photography is also a hobby of mine. I would never pursue it as a career, but I enjoy it. I love boardgames. My family has a game night and it is my favorite night! I always ask for new games for Christmas. I am a book worm. I love to read and will read anything that can hold my attention. I also love all things Disney and I am a huge Star Wars fan! I will not pick a side. I love the Light side and Jedi's, but the Dark side is appealing. I have a soft spot for Darth Vader and Kylo Ren. I guess there is something about a bad boy ;)

So, that's pretty much me in a nut shell! At least everything I can think of. I am pretty easy going and just try to make the most of everyday.

Trying to Find Balance

Life over the last year has been a whirlwind. So much has happened and I don't think I have processed it all.

My grandmother past away last March. So much of my time was spent caring for her that now I don't know what to do with myself. It was hard, but one of the best things I have ever done. Once she past away she left us her house. The house I grew up in and the house that my grandparents made my home. I never ever thought I would want to leave it, but now I do. I want to have our own home. One that my husband and I make our home. This house is no longer a home without my grandparents. I am absolutely torn with the decision to sale it. I hate the thought of someone else owning this home, but at the same time there is nothing here for us. The rest of my family are about an hour away and with us planning to pursue starting a family, I would like to be close to my parents. However, some part of me feels like I would be disappointing my grandparents by putting their dream home up for sale. It has been a hard decision. But, this doesn't feel like our home. I don't think it ever will again. So, we are about to start looking into buying a house soon, and placing this one on the market in the spring.

I also graduated from college in May. Now that I am not a full time student I don't know what to do with myself. I have been looking into a career with my degree, but they are few and far in between. I interviewed for my dream job a few months ago, and I never heard anything about it. I was hoping and praying I would get it, but I knew my lack of experience may not benefit me. So, I am babysitting, and substitute teaching when I can. I would like something more permanent. So, I will just keep looking.

I am also getting ready to have the gastric sleeve surgery. It is something I never wanted to do, but I have decided it was best. My PCOS symptoms are constantly getting worse and I am miserable most days. So, that why I made the decision to have the surgery. My husband and I are also wanting to start a family as soon as possible, and this surgery will help with my fertility issues. I have wanted to be a mother for as long as I can remember. So, if this surgery will help make that possible then I am going to do it. It wasn't an easy decision and my husband is worried to death about it, but I know its what I need to do.

Life keeps changing fast and sometimes it seems hard to catch up to it all. I am just trying to take it one day at a time. I have to find a balance between all the changes and try my best to get where I want to be.

Busy, Crazy Life

So it's been a while since I have posted anything! Since August actually! Not a lot has changed though. School is still stressful as ever, and life goes by faster each day it seems. I think the big theme in my life right now is stress! Everything lately is all so stressful, and hard to manage. I plan on starting to post more and maybe (I hope) that will help relieve some of the stress!

As far as the dieting has gone, it is pretty much down the toilet! I haven't stuck to it and haven't been keeping an eye on my weight lately! That is about to change though. I am starting to count calories again, and I will be exercising regularly. That actually starts tomorrow! My mom and I are going to be doing it together. She only needs to lose 30 pounds though! It will be nice to have someone doing it with me, and to have that support. I really want to get healthy. Having PCOS makes me feel so miserable all the time and it can be painful. I hate it, but God put it in my life for a reason. I want to just feel better, and then I want to start a family. I don't want to do it now and be unhealthy during/after pregnancy. I want to be healthy and enjoy my family. I want most in this world is to be a mom, and in the next 5 years I pray that happens. I don't want it too soon. I want to be in good health for a while before I get pregnant, be finished with school, and have a good career.

Married life, well it's married life. There is some good, and then there is bad as well. We hardly see each other, and that can really be hard at times. That seems to be the main issue, no time for each other. Hopefully that will change soon because next semester I won't take five classes again haha. I'm only going to do three, maybe four. That will give me some more free time. Josh is taking classes too, and I think we may try to get one together so we can see each other a little more, and so we can help each other.

I think that's all I have to catch everyone up on! Until Tomorrow.......Goodnight!

Stressing Already!

I know school can be stressful in general, but some teachers make it unreal! I have one that thinks she can tell you to dress in business wear and cover all tattoos that may be showing! I mean get out of here lady!!!! We are paying to take this class and learn, not to be judged or critiqued over our wardrobe . She also says that she usually fails people for missing a class. She said she won't do that this semester but she will drop us a letter grade per absence. It's ridiculous! I have thought about dropping it but I've never dropped a class before. I'd like to keep it that way, but I'm not going to rule it out as an option. Then my three online teachers act like we don't have any other classes and pile on the work. Oh we'll, you gotta do what you gotta do right?! Keep me and my sanity in you thoughts and prayers please ;)

Back to School!

Today marks the first day back to classes. I am excited, but nervous all at once. I love school but the stress can get very overwhelming. I'm taking five classes again this semester. I took five last semester and thought I would never survive it (haha). But I did and now I am doing it again. I hope and pray that it will all go smoothly. I am going to be counting down the days to vacation though. Josh and I will be married five years October 6th and we are leaving for the mountains for a week! I am so excited, and cannot wait! Good luck to anyone else starting back to school!

Spring Break

It is officially my spring break! I am not ashamed to say that I havent done anything today. I am totally fine with that! The rest of the week I plan on being more productive though.

I did have time to do a lot of thinking though. About the new diet and moving soon. My mom is going to diet with me to help me out. She doesn't really need to diet but she wants to be able to support and help me. I think I may start posting what I eat and when I exercise. Kind of keep record of it and knowing I need to post it everyday may keep me motivated.

Lack of Sleep

Almost anyone that knows me is well aware that I love my sleep. Here lately however, sleep isn't too fond of me. I cannot sleep for more than an hour or two at a time. On a good day I might get four hours total! Plus whenever I do get to sleep I wake up with migraines. It is a losing battle. I am lying here in bed at 5:33 am and I still cannot sleep.

I am getting irritated to say the least. It isn't for a lack of being tired though. I am beyond tired. My days are always full and I barely have any time to relax. I would think that would make sleep come very easily but it doesn't.

I just want some sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!

Settle for a Slow Down

Am I the only one ready for things to slow down a bit. It seems as if time just flies by and I don't have enough time to do things anymore. By the time I'm done with my homework, more is waiting, when the weekend gets here it's already over! It is so hectic and crazy lately. I was considering taking summer classes, but I think I need a break.

My non school days are full of doctor appointments for my grandma and even more homework. I hardly see my husband but maybe two hours a day! By the time he gets up in the mornings I'm already gone, and when he gets home I'm in bed. I miss seeing him as much as I did.

So I am in need of a break, and spring break is next week. I am so ready for it. I am hoping it won't go as fast as it comes!

Update!

So life has been pretty hectic lately! I am in a new semester of college, and I decided to take on 5 classes this time. Boy is it insane! I didn't think it would be that hard since I took four last semester and it was a piece of cake, but this is a whole new ball game. Once I finish one assignment i have another, and it just goes on and on. It never ends! I'm hanging in there though!

So on the home-front things are changing. Josh and I are getting ready to move to our own place. With Mamaws cancer in remission she doesn't need someone here all the time anymore. While I hate to leave her, I am so ready for us to be on our own again! It will be so nice to just be me, josh, and bear again. I am worried Bear will have a hard time adjusting because he gets sad when he is away from his brother Charlie (which is my mamaws dog) for too long. He will get used to it in time though.

On the beauty related stuff, nothing much interesting to talk about. It has been pretty basic lately. I put on foundation, powder, blush, mascara, and eyeliner. Thats about the jest of it. I always have eos lipbalm, so thats it for lips. I am excited about the Great and Powerful OZ palettes from Urban Decay! I am ordering them this week when we get out school loans and taxes in. I love anything Oz! I love the Wizard of Oz, and I have been in love with Wicked for a while now! So I am pumped about the palettes and the movie!

But thats about it everybody! I hope you have a great rest of the day!

Fourth Wedding Anniversary!

So Josh and I have been married for four years. Sometimes it doesn't seem that long, and then other times it seems like a lot longer! While it has been a bumpy road getting to this point, I wouldn't trade it for anything! He is still my best friend, and the person I can't wait to talk to and see everyday!

We have our fair share of fights, but I would rather fight with him then be with anyone else. I know as time goes on we will have some more rough times, but I look forward to many more years together.

Hospital, Stress, and Eating Out

Life for the last week has been crazy! Last Sunday night, mamaw couldn't breathe, her blood pressure was very high, her head, chest, and right arm were numb. So we called and an ambulance came to get her. She was going to have a stroke, but luckily that got to her in time. She was admitted in to the hospital, where she has been ever since. They finally got most of the fluid off of her, about seventeen pounds worth of flood. They had to stop chemo and radiation until they can get her red blood cell count back up. We are hoping that she will be able to start back on treatment soon, and come home sometime this week. She looks a lot better, but she still has a long way to go.

So all that happened late Sunday night, and I had my first day of class at 8:30 the next morning. Needless to say I was and have been very stressed! Classes went great however. I love the way they are set up. I have Math, then go directly to Math Lab, Then I stay in the same classroom for my Computers class, I go home for two hours, and then head back for my last class. So I have a break to come home, let the pups out, and have lunch. I have been leaving from school to go over to the hospital when I am done with class.

I needed to start my insulin resistance diet, but with everything going on it is almost impossible. It is a lot easier to pick something up since I am basically on the run all day. Hopefully when see gets home, I can start on it. Wish me luck ;)

One Long, but Sort Of Good Day

So today, my hunny took a PTO day from work so he could take me to the hospital. I got up this morning and my ankle was a lot worse, and I couldn't walk on it. He took me to the hospital and it is a severe sprained ankle, and they won't me to stay off of it because it could break very easily. Which is not what I need right now, that's for sure!

After that we went to walmart to drop off my prescription I got from the hospital and to do some shopping. I needed some more stuff for school, but my love surprised me and told me to pick out a new laptop, and let me get some other stuff too! He is the best! I love him, and he has been taking such good care of me! Well we were going to get Macbooks from this student financing plan, but we decided we didn't want another payment right now, but we may use the money they approved us for later.

Mamaw had chemo again today, and they started her radiation today as well. They said she did an awesome job. They gave her a Xanax for her stress and pain, and boy let me tell you she is hilarious! I am just glad that they are doing treatment, she isn't in pain, and that they are so wonderful with her.
Today has been a very tiring and painful (physically) for me, but it has been a great day too!

Emergency, Chemo, and Radiation

So today I took mamaw to get blood work done at the cancer center. They check her blood pressure and the alarms went off. It was 215 over 130. Very dangerous, very very high! They called her in to talk to the nurse and she had them to draw blood, and give her a blood pressure pill to get it down.

Well the nurse didn't like how swelled she was, and that her breathing was getting worse so she called us in to talk to the radiation doctor. He went over the pet scan with us, and there was some bad news, and some kind of good news. The tumor had grown so much that it has wrapped itself around one of the main arteries in her chest. It could cause her to have a stroke, or go into heart failure. That is what is causing the swelling, the loss of breathe, and the high blood pressure. He said we had to move very quickly, that it was an emergency and they would have to start both chemo, and radiation today!

I am so relieved that they started treatment, and I am so glad that this doctor was pissed that all the other doctors hadn't done anything yet. He said by looking at her anyone could see that they needed to start treatment quickly.

She had her first session of chemo today, she will have two more this week. They marked her for radiation today, and will begin it tomorrow. They will be doing chemo three times a week, and radiation every day.

Ted, Ice Cream Hunt, and School

So last night we watched Ted! It was so funny and I hadn't laughed that hard in a while. I wish I had my own talking teddy bear, or that my dog Bear could talk!!

So yesterday I need to get out of the house, so my husband took me on a hunt to find an Ice cream I've been looking for, for months now. It's the Carrot Cake Ice cream from blue bunny and chef Duff Goldmen from ace of cakes. I've had the Red velvet cake ice cream and its so good but I want to try the rest of them, and I love carrot cake so I have to find it! We searched all over, and so many stores yesterday and still no luck! I sure hope I find it soon.

So school starts exactly a week from tomorrow! I'm excited but nervous at the same time! I have to get the rest of my supplies this week, and a bookbag. I just haven't found one I like yet. I'm looking forward to shopping though ha-ha. I think ill probably go to Target first to look for a bookbag. Hopefully I find one I like! Wish me luck!

5Day Random Challenge: Day5!

Day 5: One Wish You Have or One Thing You Would Change About Your Life

If I could change one thing about my life, I would have stayed in college four years ago. That would have changed my life in many ways, and I would have finished it already! I just wish I would have continued to go, and would have made it my priority.

Doctors, Denny's, and Dreams

Today was full of running and appointments. Mamaw had several appointments today, and a pet scan. We met with the Surgeon today, and scheduled here surgery for Thursday. They are going to be pointing her port in to begin Chemo.

After all of the appointments, it was after 5pm and we hadn't eaten all day. So we went to Denny's. My mom was watching my nephew Jeremiah, and they came to dinner. I love seeing him, no matter how you feel he puts you in a great mood! He sure does love Chocolate Milk, but shhh don't tell his momma!

So when we got home, mamaw and I were both wore out. She took a nap, so I went to my room and laid down and shortly after fell asleep. I have been having crazy dreams lately. They make no sense whatsoever! They have been really weird. I make sure to tell someone as soon as I wake up so I won't forget them. But they have been really, really bizarre that's for sure. It makes getting up more interesting thats for sure lol.
